Reports: MS Dhoni suffering from multiple injuries; expected to make comeback in November

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni is missing from on-field action as he has made himself unavailable for the selection. Dhoni has not played a single game after the ICC World Cup 2019 in which India reached the semi-finals. The reasons for his unavailability were not known to anyone or at least weren’t disclosed to the media.

A report published in The Indian Express which stated the reason behind Dhoni’s absence. This reported was cited by some BCCI sources and read that Dhoni played the 2019 World Cup with a back injury which went on to provoke as the tournament progressed. The report also added that he also got his wrist injured during the World Cup.”

A lot of speculations also started that Dhoni will not be seen in international cricket again. Just after the World Cup, Dhoni made himself unavailable for the entire series against West Indies which was followed by his absence from the South Africa series. Now, reports have started coming that he not play in the upcoming Bangladesh series as well. His next project is expected to be the home series against West Indies which will be played in the month of November this year.

The 38-year old was seen in an international game during the semi final match against New Zealand on 9 July 2019. After that, he went to the USA for spending some time with his family. This was followed by his 15-day stint with the Territorial Army of Kashmir.

Some news also came that the two time World Cup winning captain wants Rishabh Pant to be groomed for the upcoming T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia next year. Although Pant is not able to deliver at the moment and questions have been raised on his shot selection. This arises another point of discussion in front of the selectors that they want to go back to Dhoni or find another talent in form of Sanju Samson or Ishan Kishan.

The Indian Team is right now preparing for the three-match Test series against South Africa which will begin from 2 October 2019. The first match will be played at the Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA–VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam.
