Malinga’s no-ball; Yuvi’s sixes: RCB vs MI IPL 2019 Talking points

The IPL 2019 has begun just eight days back and we have already seen plenty of drama. The Buttler run-out stirred plenty of debate while Russell getting out against Shami off a no-ball was another big moment.

And the RCB vs MI match ensured the drama continued as Malinga bowled a no-ball on the last ball of RCB’s innings but the umpires failed to notice it. This resulted in Kohli making furious comments in the post-match presentation ceremony.

RCB lost the match by five runs and this tiny margin of defeat is what made RCB and Kohli angry. Bangalore needed seven off the last ball and with ABD batting in dream-like mode, Bangalore have all the reasons to believe that the no-ball and the free-hit that would have followed could have turned the fate of the game.

However as umpires failed to notice the no-ball, the result stayed and Mumbai registered their first win of IPL 2019.

Yuvi unwinds the clock

Very few left-hand batsman struck the ball as elegantly as Yuvraj Singh does and his class was once again reflected in the game.

In the 14th over he cantered Yuvzendra Chahal for three consecutive sixes which created a frenzy and brought back the memory of Yuvi hammering Stuart Broad for six sixes in the World T20 in 2007.

On the first ball, Yuvi nailed a six in the square-leg region and on the next delivery, he sent the ball over the sightscreen with a sensational lofted straight drive.

On the third ball, Chahal went short and outside off-stump but Yuvraj rocked back and punched enough power in his pull shot to sail the ball over long-on. Three balls and three incredible sixes.

The fans hoped to see something similar but Chahal kept his cool and outfoxed Yuvi with a googly. Yuvi was out on the fourth balls after slamming three sixes and fans were dejected.
