KXIP vs DC IPL 2019: Three player battles to watch

A sensational win against KKR has boosted DC while a win against MI has injected confidence in KXIP camp. The two sides high on confidence meet each other on April 01 and this should be an exciting contest. Both teams have some high quality batsmen who are in sensational form and this match is a contest between these batsmen.

At the same time, both sides have players that have lit the tournament with their individual brilliances from time to time. Hence it will be interesting to see the player battles.

Here we look at the three crucial player battles in the KXIP vs DC IPL 2019 match.

#3. Mohammad Shami vs Prithvi Shaw-

The Delhi opener has just scored a sensational knock of 99 runs in his previous innings and will be looking to inculcate further damage in the match against Punjab.

But for this to happen, he will have to take on Mohammad Shami who is bowling really well. Shami can hit the bat hard by bending his back and this quick pace can be a challenge for Shaw.

#2. M Ashwin vs Pant-

Kuldeep Yadav proved that Rishabh Pant can be outfoxed by feeding him some smart variations and this opens up an opportunity for M Ashwin who is riding high on confidence after his good show against Mumbai.

One thing is for sure, Pant will look to go after Ashwin as this is the only way he plays and hence this should be an enthralling match-up.

#3. Rabada vs Gayle-

This should be fun. Kagiso Radaba has just added another legend to his reputation as the most complete paceman currently playing international cricket by defending 10 runs in the Super Over. And on the other hand Chris Gayle has regained his mojo and is batting the way Gayle is supposed- all out aggression and big sixes.

However Gayle is reluctant against pace and can be vulnerable early in the innings when the ball moves a bit. But at the same time he is known to time his aggression pretty well. He generally picks his bowlers and explodes when he feels like.

So what strategy does he deploy against Rabada? Will he go after him or will he see him off?
