Mumbai Indians are all set for the 2019 IPL season. The franchise had a disastrous season last year and now will be looking to set things right. The franchise is known for having superstar cricketers and this year too they have plenty among their ranks.
Here we look at the five key players for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019.
#5. Suryakumar Yadav-
The Mumbai batsman was the rare shinning light for Mumbai in their last year’s poor performance. Yadav scored plenty of runs and this year too Mumbai would want him to deliver big knocks. He will be batting in the top order which gives him the opportunity to showcase his mettle and Suryakumar Yadav will be looking to make the most of it.
#4. Hardik Pandya-
The all-rounder will have plenty of eyes on him as he is recovering from injuries and is an essential member of India’s ODI team which will participate in the World Cup later this year. Hence Mumbai will need to use him with care however the franchise at the same time would want to make the most of Pandya’s abilities.
The right-hand batsman is an ideal finisher and is known for his big hits especially against the spinners and his medium pace bowling adds to his credibility.
#3. Krunal Pandya-
Krunal has grown significantly in Mumbai’s camp. The left-hander has good temperament and can bat according to the situation which makes him a huge asset for Mumbai. At the same time, his left-arm spin will be a crucial facet for Mumbai as they don’t have depth in their spin bowling department.
#2. Quinton de Kock-
The South African cricketer can well be the X-factor for Mumbai in this year’s IPL. He is in tremendous form and he will be eager to bat on Indian wickets which are helpful for batsmen. His starts at the top of the order can give Mumbai the much needed impetuous in the Powerplay overs and he can emerge as their most important batsman.
#1. Rohit Sharma-
Rohit had his worst IPL season in 2018 and this resulted in Mumbai getting crashed out of the tournament in league stages. But this year he has looked in sublime form in international cricket and hence a lot can be expected from him.
His presence in the middle order will allow Mumbai to dictate the game in the middle overs and he can play a massive role as the finisher for the team.
