Of all the World Cups England has played, this is probably their best chance to lay their hands on the trophy. First thing, they are playing at their home in an era where home advantage has become a decisive factor (last two World Cups were won by the hosts) and have a team which plays an aggressive brand of cricket that no other team on their day can match-up to.
The bowling department though has some chinks but even then England will be a favorite for the World Cup and their squad breathes confidence.
England World Cup 2019 Squad:
Eoin Morgan (c), Moeen Ali, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Jos Buttler (wk), Tom Curran, Joe Denly, Alex Hales, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood
Can England live up to the hype?
England batting department is loaded with explosive batsmen. Roy, Bairstow, Morgan and Stokes are match-winners while Jos Buttler arguably their best batsmen is in tremendous form. With Joe Root gluing the innings together, England have an ideal batting order.
The bowling though revolves around Liam Plunkett who has been extremely good and Mark Wood who has shown ample promise.
