DC vs KKR IPL 2019: Three key player battles to watch

Delhi Capitals have an enormous task in front of them on March 31. The franchise takes on Kolkata Knight Riders who have won both their games in IPL 2019 so far. Delhi has the firepower to challenge Kolkata’s might but can them step up as a unit?

On the other hand, Kolkata have done everything well so far and will look to continue their good show.

In this battle, watch out for these three player match-ups.

#3. Kuldeep Yadav vs Rishabh Pant-

A match winner vs a match-winner. Rishabh Pant has shown that he change the fate of a game in no time with his swashbuckling hitting against Mumbai. But against KKR he will be up against a quality spinner who outfoxes batsmen with his skilled variations.

Kuldeep Yadav is known for producing break-throughs at crunch moments and against Delhi he will be looking forward for the match-up against Pant.

#2.  Ishant vs Narine-

Sunil Narine has become a force to reckon with at the top of the order. His quick starts in Powerplay overs can easily take the game away from the opposition and hence Delhi will be wary of him.

Narine is destructive against spinners but he doesn’t enjoy the same success against pacers. Hence Delhi can think of peppering Narine with short pitch bowling and who better to do than the tall and lanky Ishant Sharma?

#1. Rabada vs Russell-

Andre Russell will be the biggest threat for Delhi and to negate him the Delhi team will need to bring their best bowler on.

Kagiso Rabada can be a lethal force with his acute pace and Delhi will be hoping that he gets the better of Russell by beating him for pace.

This contest can decide fate of the match as Russell’s early exit could trigger panic in Kolkata’s camp while failure to neutralise him will unleash a Tsunami of big runs.
