ICC 2019 world cup schedule: Full fixtures released, get the complete time – table, ODI cricket’s biggest carnival, the ICC cricket world cup 2019 will begin from May 30, 2019 with hosts England taking on South Africa in the first match at the Oval.

The high –voltage contest, India versus Pakistan will be played on June 16 at the Old Trafford.

This ICC 2019 world cup schedule features a round-robin league format where each of the ten teams plays against the remaining nine teams. The top four teams based on most wins then qualify for the semi-finals.

This format was utilized in the 1992 world cup and was highly successful. However, that world cup featured 9 teams while the ICC 2019 cricket world Cup features ten teams. Eight teams including hosts England, Australia, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and South Africa qualified directly while West Indies and Afghanistan booked their place by winning the tightly fought World Cup qualifier tournament.

The ICC 2019 cricket world cup will have 48 matches including the semi-finals and finals and it will last for 46 days. The organizers have intentionally decided to reduce the number of games and days as lot of matches between low profile teams became a boring affair in the previous tournaments. Hence this time the world cup features only ten teams.

The tournament will be played on venues across England. However, Manchester has bragged some of the most vital contests and hence it gains a prominent position. This venue will host one of the semi-finals and the match India Vs Pakistan and South Africa Vs Australia.

After starting on May 30, the league stage of the tournament will end on July 06. This will be followed by the two semi-finals. The first will be played on July 09 and the second semifinal on July 11 at Manchester and Birmingham respectively.

The big final will be played on July 14, at the historic and iconic ground of Lords.

All the three knock-out games will have one reserve day to counter the possibility of rain. Interestingly, these games will also be day games, a decision kept with the sub-content viewers in focus.
