Indiana Pacers v Sacramento Kings: All you need to know about India’s NBA Debut
This weekend was historical from the point of view of sports in the country as India witnessed their NBA debut on October 04 and 05 in Mumbai. Two friendly matches were played between the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings at the NSCI Stadium.
Both the matches turned out to be terrific and an absolute treat for the spectators. Pacers emerged as the winners at both the occasions where they won the first match by a solitary point. The scoreline at the end of these two games read out to be 132-131 and 130-106 respectively in favour of Indiana Pacers.
The Ambani family became the talk of the town at the pre-season of NBA games in India. The Reliance Foundation also celebrated 6 years of their partnership with the NBA and presented the ceremonial ‘Match Ball’. Myles Turner of Indiana Pacers and De’Aaron Fox of Sacramento Kings along with two children from their organization also joined Mrs Ambani while they handed over the Match Ball to NBA game officials.
Apart from Mrs Nita Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, Mr Mukesh Ambani also marked his presence at the event. Both their sons, Akash and Anant Ambani were also there along with Shloka Mehta and Radhika Merchant.
Several Bollywood celebrities such as Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Tamannaah Bhatia, Richa Chadda, Rannvijay Singha, Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar also glammed at the NBA friendly games that took place at the National Sports Centre in Mumbai.
The list of attendees also included names like John Abraham, Guru Randhava, Malika Arora, Rahul Bose, Sonam Kapoor with her husband Anand Ahuja and Saiyami Kher.
