Australia break records with 472-part group for Tokyo 2020 Games

Australia’s Olympic group will see a record number of ladies and Indigenous competitors addressing the country at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 that start on 23 July.

Of the 472 competitors set to contend in Tokyo, 254 will be ladies – the best number of female competitors to seek Australia at an Olympic Games.

The most elevated number of Indigenous competitors (16) has been chosen with tennis world no.1 Ash Barty and Mixed Pairs Shooting World Champion Thomas Grice turning into the primary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Olympians of their individual games. Native Australians will be addressed across 11 games including sea shore volleyball, football, softball and rugby sevens.
