Will India extend the lockdown? What happened in Conference Meeting held By PM Narendra Modi?

India enters the final week of lockdown 2.0. Today the Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a video conference meeting with all chief ministers of different states to discuss future ahead planning regarding Coronavirus. This was the fourth time Pm Narendra Modi took Video conferencing meeting with all states CM since the outbreak emerged. According to the ministry of health and welfare, the total number of coronavirus cases has climbed to 27,892 today.  The chief ministers from Meghalaya, Mizoram, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Gujarat, and Haryana discuss the further strategies to fight against deadly coronavirus which killed nearly 900 people in the country. Meghalaya and Odisha request to PM Narendra Modi to extend the lockdown for a few days.

Here are the key points discussed by CM of different states in the meeting.

Meghalaya

Meghalaya plans to extend the lockdown after May 3  by providing relaxation to green zones or non-COVID affected districts in Meghalaya.

Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand CM said in meeting For the economic revival of the states amid coronavirus lockdown, a committee of ministers and a committee of experts has been constituted.

Gujarat

Gujarat CM Rupani said that the Central Government should take the decision to extend nationwide lockdown for the relief of the country.

Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur says State government has reached out to the people through Anganwadi centres to create sensitisation. The Himachal govt said that they have been aggressively testing people with symptoms because bordering states have reported cases.

Odisha

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik highlights that public gatherings, religious and educational institution must be completely closed. Odisha is working together to control the disease.

Maharashtra

Due the rapid arise in coronavirus cases in the state, Mumbai and Pune are increase the lockdown till May 18 said Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope to media.

West Bengal

West Bengal chief minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami attends video conference meeting of chief ministers with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on COVID19 situation ensured to help students from West Bengal stuck in Kota.
