Controversy over the replica of Emblem

National Emblem is representative deal of Republic of India which was adopted from Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar, adopted on 26th January, 1950 with a motto “Satyamev Jayate” or “Truth alone triumphs’

We are also aware of the under construction of the New Parliament building.

 

So, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the National emblem to be cast on the top of the new Parliament building. The replica of the Ashok Pillar became a matter of controversy because the opposition parties stated that the original National Emblem were “graceful and regally confident”. However, the replica over the new Parliament was “menacing” and had “an aggressive posture”.

 

Some are appreciating the initiative taken by the government for the new Parliament building and some continued to simmer for not involving them in the ceremony and for the new features of the replica of Emblem.

 

AICC in charge of communication Jairam Ramesh tweeted that ” To completely change the character and nature of the lions on the Ashoka Pillar at Sarnath is a brazen insult to the National Symbol”.
