A need to fight for your right

A woman is a source of power which can lead to Mahabharata. We live in a country like India where we worship a woman as the goddess. Indian history is the evidence that whenever someone disrespect any women or exploit them, they are left with nothing but regrets. But we are meant to learn from our past mistakes. Is history only to mug up the dates and events or to also learn from them? But what is actually happening in this era is really blood curdling. How humans are becoming inhuman. For them rights are nothing but a ‘word’. The saddest part is women themselves have no idea about their rights. They simply accept inhuman treatments as if it is meant to be in their destiny. For instance – women are often paid less than men. However, it is clearly mentioned under Equal remuneration Act that salary or wages should be paid equally and there must not be any discrimination on the basis of sex. But how many women raise their voice when they are paid less than men? 

According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), women earn between 50% to 96% of men’s wages which is depending on the countries. In addition they work more than a man. Between 15 to 30% of working women are subject to frequent, serious sexual harassment and ILO has also conved that one out of twelve women are forced out of a job after being sexually harassed. But still how many of then raise their voice against such discrimination? 

The World Health Organization (WHO) published a global estimation report which indicated that 1 in 3 women have experienced either physical or sexual intimate partner violence or non partner violence in their lifetime which depicts the condition of the women worldwide. Women need to know their rights and they have to fight for their rights else they’ll be exploited.
