Rajasthan government has cancelled the holiday for 24 of September by issuing an order to all private and government schools and colleges to participate in blood donation camps to mark the birth anniversary of Jana Sangh leader, Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

This move by the Vasundhara Raje government has caused an outrage amongst the Muslim community as Eid Ul Zuha and Bakr Eid maybe celebrated on the 24 or 25 of September, depending upon the sight of the crescent.

First the beef ban in Mumbai followed by Haryana and then Kashmir, now this latest move to cancel a holiday by the state government has irked the mindset of all the non Hindu communities and is being interpreted by many as a mode to saffronize the nation.

The Rajasthan government however claimed that the participation in the blood donation was voluntary

Opposition party, Congress slammed the BJP government as going against the norms of a secular state.

Representatives of the Jamaat e Islami Hind are planning to visit the chief secretary of the state and also file a writ petition in the High court
