Narendra Modi inaugurates Make in India Week at Mumbai to boost manufacturing

The Make in India Week was kick started by the Prime Minster Narendra Modi at NSCI, Worli. The flagship event aims to promote rapid development of manufacturing sector in India. Modi was welcome by the chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis along with Maharashtra Governor C V Rao at the airport. At the inaugural event, the Prime Minister addressed top industry leaders and investors from various sectors. The Make in India center was opened at the MMRDA Grounds, Bandra Kurla Complex. Several high profile guests were present at the event. It includes Prime Minster of Finland and Prime minster of Sweden. Senior diplomats, business leaders and officials will be meeting Modi to talk about various aspects of Make in India.

Promoting India as manufacturing hub is the aim of Make in India Week. The event will show country’s achievements in the sector so far. Academicians, central and state government officials, global leaders and Indian businessmen will get an opportunity to interact with each other about collaborations and opportunities. More than 49 countries have sent government delegations to the event. Business delegations from 68 countries are expected to attend the Make in India Week. The delegations from Sweden, Lithuania and Finland is led by their own Prime Ministers. Poland’s Deputy Prime minister is also there with a delegation.

The Make in India center has stalls and exhibitions from 17 state governments. It also has many country based pavilions. 27 halls and the area of 2,20,000 square meters is being used to host this grand event. Germany, South Korea and Sweden have their own pavilions at the venue. 190 corporations and companies are showcasing their manufacturing might at the Make in India Week which was inaugurated by Narendra Modi.
