More than 25 people were killed and over 100 injured after a suicide bomb attack in the Turkish town of Suruc near the Syrian border.

The victims were mostly members of the Federation of Socialist Youth Association. They were staying in the Amara Culture Centre to help in assisting the rebuilding project in the nearby Syrian town of Kobane.

Turkish Officials believe that the terror group IS had their hands behind this attack. Suruc, where the attack took place is just 15 minutes away from the Syrian border and close to a Syrian city which had witnessed the most intensive battles fought between the IS and Kurd fighters.

Witnesses claim to have heard loud screaming and people running in a state of panic.

This could be one of the possible act of revenge in response to the heavy defeat they faced against the Kurd fighters earlier this year and at the same time losing Tal Abyad, one of IS’ most important and ideal route which leads towards Turkey.
