Bored of having the Veg. Thali for dinner or lunch in long distance mail trains? For years, IRCTC’s pantry is known for serving bad, stinky and stale food. There were instances in the past where cockroaches were found in Biryani served by the pantry of,Rajdhani Express.

As part of its endeavour to offer wide variety to passengers to choose from and to make available the popular food brands in market under its newly launched e-catering services, IRCTC has tied up with Jubilant Food Works Ltd, the parent company of Domino’s Pizza, on a trial basis.

 1. The 12215(up) and 12216(down) Mumbai-Delhi,Garibrath will be having an option of ordering their choice of pizza.

  1. The 12061(up and 12062 (down) Bhopal-Jabalpur, Jan-Shatabdi Express will also be having an option for the same.

The Ministry of Railways, on its Facebook page, posted, “Indian Railways has stepped up its efforts to provide wider options to the travelling public in their choice of meals through e-catering services. This facility has been extended to 25 more pairs of trains from 14 pairs initially started on all-India circuit. For supply of food on select locations for the 39 pairs of trains, Indian Railways has tied up with IRCTC food plazas and fast-food units.

The e-catering facility is available through three modes of booking i.e. Meals on Call, Meals through SMS and Meals on online booking on IRCTC’s web-portal. Passengers with confirmed reservation can book their meals on-line i.e. at www.ecatering.irctc.co.in or through call centre by calling at 1800-1034-139 or SMS <MEAL> PNR at 139. However, passengers with wait-listed tickets can book on call or SMS only”.
