Vande Bharat Mission: 169 people to come back from Dhaka

After the launch of the mission “Vande Bharat”, the Vande Bharat flight is all set to bring 169 people from Dhaka to Kolkata. The special flight will be of Air India. They will bring people on Monday, say media reports.

 

Since a large number of people from West Bengal are in Bangladesh, the High Commission of India in Dhaka will identify those who want to back to India with genuine reasons and will be given priority. The first flight to Kolkata had 73 students, 16 elderly people, 45 stranded tourists, 16 medical emergency cases and 1 pregnant woman.

 

People who are coming back will put under quarantine. Only after that, they will go back to their homes across 20 districts. The Ministry of External Affairs had on Thursday announced that it is ready to facilitate flights if the West Bengal government announces quarantine facilities to the people coming back.

 

The people will not only be back from Dhaka only but from the other states of Bangladesh.

 

Earlier 168 people were bought back home from Chicago and USA under this mission. The flight landed on Hyderabad International Airport on Sunday. All arriving passengers were sanitised properly at the International Arrivals.

 

One flight on 16 May landed on the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport oh Hyderabad. This flight came from Newark, New Jersey and had around 121 people. India started this mission on May 7,2020 in the third phase of lockdown to bring the people in crisis to their homes back.
