Qaidi number 106 Salman Khan will spend Friday night in jail

Salman Khan, one of the highest paid actors of Bollywood sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of illegal poaching. He found guilty of killing two blackbucks in 1998. He was also fined for rupees 10000, i.e., 150 dollars.

Salman Khan had to spend today’s night in jail as well. Ravindra Kumar Joshi, District and Sessions Court Judge reserved the verdict regarding superstar’s bail plea hearing on Saturday. Yesterday, a public prosecutor, Bhawani Singh, working Salman Khan Case confirmed that Dabangg Khan could appeal to the higher court and on the acceptance of his appeal he could be granted bail or could have his sentenced suspended.

Salman’s lawyer supposed that he wanted to see full case record before deciding that he should get bail or not.  Actually, the eyewitness is not reliable, and the court convicted Salman Khan on the basis of just one eyewitness.

Previously Salman’s lawyer had also claimed that eyewitness accounts were untrustworthy and thus actor’s punishment is harsh. His sisters were also present in the court at the time of the arguments.  It is also reported that Salman’s lawyer Mahesh Bora received threat calls last night to leave his case. These calls were made from Australia and Dubai and were allegedly done by Ravi Pujari Gang

Khan pleaded not guilty and over the years maintained his innocence on the case. Salman Khan’s lawyer alleged that he was carrying the air gun which is not for hunting purpose. Other actors along with Khan were charged with abetting the crime. However, they all were acquitted. Other actors included Sonali Bendre, Tabu, Neelam and Saif Ali Khan.

The judgment of actor came following twenty years of his legal proceedings. It was in 1998 all through the shooting of Hum Saath Saath Hae. He was blamed under section 51 of Wildlife Protection Act which carries out a maximum punishment of about six years and the minimum of one-year jail term. All the actors including Salman Khan were in gypsy on 1st October 1998 night. Salman Khan was driving and spotted a herd of blackbucks. He killed two out of them. The prosecution had been demanded the maximum punishment of six years for the actor. Although prosecution demanded minimum for three years and trying for his bail.

Many Bollywood celebrities comprising Jaya Bachchan, Varun Dhawan, Arjun Rampal and Subhash Ghai openly alleged that they are very disappointed by the judgment.
