Due to nationwide lock-down, flight have been suspended from past 61 days and the airlines’ services will be resumed from 25 May. Only one-third flight will fly on every route,i.e., if before lock-down 21 flight were there on a route, then only 7 will operate. Among these, the railways too have prepared its draft of 200 trains to restart its services. The list of trains have been announced and the booking starts from Thursday, 21 May.
The information of restarting of flights have been given by Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs through a tweet. However, nothing has been mentioned about international flights. He told to prepare airports and airlines to start preparing for the operation.
There were 7,800 flights including 5100 domestic flights. Now only 1700 flights will resume. Only 25 domestic flights will resume from Jaipur out of 56 domestic flights. Out of 200 trains, 6 trains will either arrive or depart from Jaipur.
The seats will not be empty in airplanes
Along with lock-down on 25 March, the domestic airline services have been suspended whereas the international flights were suspended from 22 March. Only cargo and special permission flights were permitted to operate. The airline sector have been effected badly due to lock-down because of the pandemic. Aerostation Minister told the airlines to start bookings for 25 May through a tweet but the airlines haven’t started the bookings yet as no circular have been circulated for the same and Vistara told that we can not start the booking on the basis of a tweet.
Reservation for General coach is now mandatory.
Out of 200 trains, 73 pairs are mail express, 5 pairs of Non- AC Duranto and 22 pairs of Janshatabdi. The whole train will be reserved and will have AC and Non-AC category of coaches. The booking will be done either on IRCTC website or mobile app. The fare of second seating will be charged. Reservation counter will be closed. No agent can book the tickets. After screening, only people with no symptoms will be allowed to travel.
