Domestic flight updates: Delhi is all set; Maharashtra didn’t permit

Civil Aviation Ministry announced the resumption of domestic flights from 25 May but the Maharashtra government denied the permission saying that they will follow intact lock-down. Till now, the government had neither made any changes in the rules of lockdown 4.0 given by the central government nor have permitted for the resumption of flights.

In 9 states like Punjab and Chattisgarh, the landing passengers will undergo quarantine.

The states in which the passengers will undergo quarantine are as follows:

 Punjab: Chief Minister Amarinder Singh told that the passengers coming home via train, bus or aeroplane will have to necessarily undergo a 14 day home quarantine.

Chattisgarh: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that all the plane passengers have to undergo an institutional quarantine of 14 days.

Karnataka: Passengers coming from states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil and Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh by any means of transportation will have to undergo a 7-day institutional quarantine followed by 7 days of home quarantine.

 Uttarakhand: Passengers will be quarantined for 10 days in a hotel or a governmental place.

Goa: State government wants flight passengers to undergo an Anti-body test.

Andaman and Nicobar: Administration has set Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the passengers coming by flight. Every passenger will undergo thermal screening and 14 days of home quarantine.

Kerala, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh: In these states also, the on-board passengers will undergo a quarantine of 14 days.

In Delhi, all the domestic flights will be operated from terminal 3 of Indra Gandhi Airport. Delhi International Airport Limited told that the temperature of every passenger will be checked at the entrance by a CISF Thermal Scanner. Aarogya Setu App in every passenger mobile phone is necessary.

According to reports, DIAL’s CEO Vidah Jaipuriar told that the first flight will be operated on 25 May, 4.30 pm. He said that the authorities have assured that all the facilities for boarding passengers will be touchless. Either passenger print the boarding passes from home or use the ‘Scan and Fly Kiosk’.

190 flights will take off from Delhi everyday. Due to the allowance of one-third flight on a route, only 190 flights will arrive and 190 flights will depart from Delhi’s airport. Almost 20,000 passengers will come to Delhi airport. The regular flight were suspended from 25 March keeping in mind the danger of COVID-19.
