US had more than 14,000 Postive Coronavirus cases and lives and afflicted more than four lakh people. At least 11 Indians have died of Covid-19 in the United States with another 16 testing positive for the infection.
All Indian citizens who have been suffering from this deadly virus in the US are mostly male, and in which ten of them are from New York and New Jersey area. Whereas Four of the victims are taxi drivers in New York City.
New York City has become the main epicenter for Coronavirus because more than 138000 confirm cases found along with 6,000 deaths of this deadly virus. Whereas there are 1,500 fatalities and nearly 48,000 infections cases found in New Jersey.
In Florida one Indian citizen died due to COVID-19 . Authorities are also investigating the nationality of some other Indian origin people in the States of California and Texas.
All 16 Indian citizens including four females and 12 mens who have tested positive for coronavirus are kept in self-quarantine. All are Coming from diverse background and eight of them are from New York, three from New Jersey and rest from other states like Texas and California. In India they are from Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.
United states and Indian Embassy are consulting across and working closely with local authorities and Indian-American organizations to provide necessary assistance to Indian nationals and students affected with Covid-19.
Official said to PTI”Due to strict travel restrictions and regulations to prevent people from this Pandemic local officials performing the last rites of the deceased and in many cases are not allowing even their immediate family members to attend their cremations”.
