According to a previously announced decision by the Bengal government to stop the spread of coronavirus, the state will have a total lockdown of two consecutive days on August 20 & 21, Thursday and Friday. Because of this, there will be a lockout in the entire state for continuous 48 hours.
Earlier this month, the complete lockdown was implemented on 5th August and 8th August. During the lockdown, everything will be closed except for essential services. All government and private offices, shops, markets, transport services, banks, among others will be closed. Trains and airlines will also be completely banned on these days in the state.
The movement of planes from Kolkata and Bagdogra airports will be completely closed while trains from Howrah, Sealdah and other stations in the state will also not be diverted. Railways have already cancelled all trains to Bengal on the day of lockdown.
At the same time, essential services like medicine shops, health, electricity, water etc. will be exempted in lockdown. The tea gardens can function. Work is also allowed in factories through on-site workers.
According to the directive issued by the state government, there will be a complete lockdown from 6 am to 10 pm and during this time there will be a ban on needlessly leaving homes.
Let us tell you that before this, the lockdown was highly successful and there was complete silence on the streets of the entire state. The police have also been informed about the lockdown by miking and people were asked to stay in the houses.
Given the community infection of coronavirus in some areas of the state, on July 20, the entire lockdown was announced for 2 days every week.
There were more than 1 lakh 22 thousand positive cases reported till Tuesday in the state and so far 2528 people have died due to COVID-19. More than 3000 new cases are coming every day for the last 5 days
