The Center has so far given more than 20 crore vaccine doses to states and union territories for free

Vaccination drive is carried out in big numbers with the rising Covid cases in India. The central government has so far provided free doses of more than 20 crore vaccines to states and union territories. The government will still make 1.84 crore vaccine doses available for free. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, states and Union Territories will get about 51 lakh vaccine doses in the next three days. Covid vaccination is an integral part of the government’s comprehensive strategy for the control and management of pandemics, so the government is providing a large number of vaccines to the states.

The Ministry of Health stated that the Government of India is supporting the nationwide vaccination campaign by providing Covid vaccines to states and Union Territories free of cost, apart from several efforts to increase their production and supply.

The third phase of Covid-19 vaccination has started from May 1, and under this, 50 percent of the total Central Pharmaceutical Laboratory (CDL) vaccine will be purchased every month from any company. While the center will continue to provide these doses to the States and Union Territories completely for free. The Center has so far provided more than 20 crore vaccine doses (20,28,09,250) to states and union territories at no cost. Of this, the total consumption is 18,43,67,772 doses based on the average consumption as of May 14.

The Health Ministry statement said that over 1.84 crore vaccine doses (1,84,41,478) are still available with the states and union territories.

Talking about the cases of Covid in the country, according to the data found till late Saturday night, the total number of infected people has crossed 2,46,79,000. Out of these, 2,07,82,000 patients have been completely cured and 2,70,254 people have also died.
