The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) of the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has recommended the approval of the first stage clinical trial of the India Biotech nasal corona vaccine. Although the final decision on this issue is yet to be taken by the Drugs Controller General of India, DCGI, the medical experts are very excited about this vaccine.

Children can be corona carriers

Experts consider this vaccine to be no less than a lifesaver for children. Delhi AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria (AIIMS Director, Randeep Guleria) said on Wednesday that the nasal vaccine against Corona could easily be given to school children. Even though school children have a lower risk of severe corona infection, they can spread the infection to others, ie they may prove to be carriers of the corona. In this case, this vaccine will be very helpful in the prevention of corona infection.

Infections can spread to parents or grandparents

Eminent Pulmonologist (AIIMS Director, Randeep Guleria) also stated that all the vaccines against Corona so far have not been approved for children. There has been no study of these vaccines on children yet. However, vaccine testing on children is a very important step. Vaccine trials are being done on children. Dr Guleria (AIIMS Director, Randeep Guleria) said that once children start attending school regularly and bring the infection home, they can spread it to their parents or grandparents.

In response to a question, Dr Guleria (AIIMS Director, Randeep Guleria) said that the vaccine for children against Corona may come soon. India is making efforts for approval of the biotech nasal vaccine. This type of nasal vaccine will be very easy to be given to children as it is a spray. If this vaccine is approved, then vaccination will also be very easy. In just half an hour, such a vaccine can be given to children of the whole class.

When should those who defeated Corona get vaccinated?

Dr Guleria said that vaccination is also necessary for those who have won the war on the infection. This is because if the number of antibodies inside the body has decreased due to any reason then it will increase after the vaccine. NDRF employees from Guleria at one event asked whether taking the vaccine was also necessary for the person who had been cured of the infection. It is known that a vaccination campaign is being carried out in the country through two vaccines.

On the other hand, Dr VK Paul, member of NITI Aayog and co-chairman of the Task Force on Corona Vaccine, says that if the trial of the nasal vaccine is successful, it can prove to be a ‘game-changer’ in the fight against Coronavirus.
