Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation for the first time Today amid the second wave of Corona in the country at 8:45 pm. Earlier today, he interacted with the Corona vaccine manufacturers. During this, he urged everyone to increase their vaccine production capacity so that people can be vaccinated as soon as possible.

>> PM Modi said in his address to the nation that today many people, institutions are working together in this crisis of Corona. I salute everyone. My appeal is that only with the cooperation of all will you be able to win this battle.
>> Previously we had neither the infrastructure nor the experience to fight Corona. Today the situation has changed. We have PPE kits. There is a network of labs. Continuously enhancing testing facilities.
>> PM Modi said that the state governments are requested to maintain the confidence of the workers. Whatever you are, stay where you are. In the next few days, vaccines will also be available and work will continue.
>> We have decided to give the vaccine to everyone over the age of 18 from May 1, while making an important decision regarding the vaccine. The central government vaccine program will continue as before. Free vaccine will continue to be available as before.
>> PM Modi said in his address to the nation that I had a detailed discussion with the people of the pharma industry. We are fortunate that our country has a strong pharma sector. We are rapidly increasing the number of beds in hospitals.
>> The decisions taken in the past, the situation will improve in the coming time. Rapid works are being done to overcome the oxygen problem. For this, the state government, central government and private players are working together.
>> In this crisis, our doctors, medical staff, scavengers are busy serving the corona patients.
>> The country is again fighting a very big fight against Corona. The situation was over until some time ago. I am fully aware of the suffering you are enduring. I express my condolences on behalf of all the countrymen for those who have lost their lives.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi said that the biggest strength of India’s vaccine industry is ‘strength, resources and service spirit’, which makes the country a vaccine leader in the world.
