Indian Railway announced to start Vande Bharat Express’s 44 more train sets

 ‘Vande Bharat Express’, one of the ambitious rail schemes of the Government of India, will start for many other cities. Indian Railways has announced to start the work to build 44 more train sets, which will be ready in scheduled time. These trains will start running from next year. Indian Railways has placed orders to make 44 sets of ‘Vande Bharat’ to Medha Servo Drives Limited. The contract is worth Rs 2,211 crore. Under the Make in India policy, the Government of India has assigned this work to Medha Servo Drives, in which 90 percent of the goods will be made in India.

Each train set will have 16 coaches. According to the Railway Board, train set construction will be started soon. The first train was built in a record time of 18 months, which cost around 97 crores. Later many changes were made to its design, which reduced both power consumption and price.

How Vande Bharat Express 

The making of Vande Bharat Bharat was announced in 2017 and the train was to run in 2018, hence it was named Train 18. The first train was ready in late 2018. It was later renamed as Vande Bharat. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the first Vande Bharat Express on 15 February 2019. This train ran between Delhi and Varanasi. The second train was flagged off by Home Minister Amit Shah on 3 October 2019. The train started between New Delhi and Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

The speciality of Vande Bharat Express

All the state of the art facilities are available in this train. The chairs in the coach can be rotated 180 degrees i.e. in the opposite direction. Deep freezers have been installed to keep food. The onboard infotainment system has been installed, here you can watch songs or movies of your choice. The special film has been put on windows. A roller blind sunscreen has been installed on the glass of the cockpit to protect the pilot from strong light. These trains run at a speed of 130 km per hour.
