Government denies snubbing Justin Trudeau over Khalistan
Indian government clearly denies snubbing Justin Trudeau on his visit to India. As per the report, PM Modi receiving any foreign minister at the airport is his personal gesture and not a protocol.
The foreign ministry had raised many issues in relation to the seven-day visit of Justin Trudeau to India. They claimed that Indian Government was snubbing Justin Trudeau and he was not accompanied once by Indian PM Narendra Modi on his initial visit to his hometown Gujarat.
Sources supposed that Minister of state had welcomed Trudeau by keeping to protocol. Sources added that ‘actually do not understand a PM have not received Chinese President XI Jinping on his visit.’ Receiving foreign heads at the airport is the personal gesture of PM. It is not a protocol. So far PM Modi had received Japanese PM Shinzo Abe, US President Barack Obama, Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as well as Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.
In the reply, Indian authorities cleared that Justin Trudeau visit to other cities in spite of New Delhi was the decision of Canadian PM’s office. In spite of continuing suggestions by Indian part to come primarily to New Delhi. However, Trudeau would be visiting Mumbai today, and on Wednesday he will be in Amritsar. Therein Amritsar Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh would accompany him for sure. Regarding this Punjab CM also tweeted and supposed ‘looking forward to meeting Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in Amritsar on Wednesday.’
He added that ‘ I am confident that this meeting would assist to strengthen up the close Indo Canadian business bonding and deep-rooted people to people relationship amid both the countries.’
Official sources also confirmed that initially, Canada was unwilling to have Trudeau meet Singh. As prior year Singh refused to meet Sajjan by calling him a Khalistani Sympathizer. On the other hand, Justin Trudeau is expected to repeat Canada ‘a position that it totally supports a united India. Indian also expects that Trudeau should also guarantee that Sikh ministers are not seen as supporting Khalistan Movement.
On the other hand, Vishnu Prakash, high commissioner to Canada denied regarding stubbing Justin Trudeau. He supposed in an interview that Indian government had followed their protocol and extended all due to politeness to visiting leader.
