Airtel, Vodafone, Jio Suspends Internet, Voice and SMS Service in Parts of Delhi NCR

Big telecom companies like Airtel and Vodafone Idea have suspended their mobile services in parts of Delhi NCR. These companies have confirmed that the government has ordered them to shut down the internet with voice and SMS services in the track of the protests suspected in Capital.

Some have complained against the internet shutdown from the ITO, Seelampur and India Gate area. Protests erupted in the New Seelampur area in wake of the questionable Citizenship Amendment Act yesterday.

Bharatiya Airtel took this to Twitter and confirmed that there is a shutdown in the internet and SMS services after the directions from the administration authorities. On the other hand, Vodafone also confirmed the same popular news portal where the internet has been banned in the Delhi NCR regions.

The ban on the telecom services has started from Thursday 10 AM and telecom spokespeople have said they say anything regarding the duration of services suspension.

An Airtel customer care official said that as per the instruction from the government the voice, internet and SMS services are currently suspended in some part of the Delhi NCR. He also added once the ban is lifted, services will be fully up and working.

Some sources have also confirmed that Vodafone Idea and Reliance Jio have also suspended services in certain parts of Delhi from 9 AM to 1 PM. Vodafone has shut down in its telecommunication services in many parts of the capital city.
