Police arrests 10 People with criminal backgrounds For Jamia Millia Islamia Violence, Claims none are Students

Delhi Police said no Jamia Millia Islamia student has been arrested so far but have ruled out giving them a clean chit for violent protests that broke out on Sunday. Having criminal backgrounds Ten people arrested in connection with Sunday’s violent situation which rosed among JMI & AMI students and Delhi police. A further 15 others have been identified in raids. The police added those arrested are from the Jamia and Okhla areas – both of which border the university – of the national capital.

Adding to reports according to the news agency IANS in the war zone 14 buses had been either burnt or damaged and 20 private vehicles had been torched. It also said 67 people, including 31 police officers, had been injured and a total of 47 persons, including students, had been detained.

Although allegations on cops have been raised that they have entered the campus by force, without the permission, according to Chief Proctor of Jamia Millia Islamia.

It all occurred on Sunday, December 15, 2019, when a new battel field was visible. The battlefield evoked among Students of New Delhi’s Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Uttar Pradesh state’s Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) – 130km (81 miles) from the capital and Delhi Police over the new citizenship law. The police have been seen hitting students brutally in various videos which led to war-like situations. The trouble started Sunday evening after a protest march by the students on new citizenship law. The clashes left a total of nearly 50 students injured and the 100 Jamia students – who had been detained after cops barged into the campus without permission. Cops in both Delhi and Aligarh have been accused of using excessive force during protests that turned violent.

The clashes evoked when the police to control the demonstrators as they tried to march towards Parliament to protest the exclusion of citizenship law. After this, The police started ruthlessly throwing tear gas into some, libraries, classrooms on students who were studying. Students praying at a mosque were also attacked simultaneously by the police. Although the police justified in a statement as “We only acted to control the situation after the violence,” news agency ANI quoted senior police officer Chinmaya Biswal as saying. “Our only interest is to push the mob back, so law and order can be restored in the area. We have no problem with university (Jamia Millia Islamia University) students,” he added.

As a result, now a nationwide protest has been echoed for the brutality done to the students of Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and Uttar Pradesh state’s Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Still, the situations are tense and the nation is filled with anger.
