Hugging and holding hands is unnatural: Delhi College

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies (VIPS) located in Pitampura, New Delhi, seems to be highly motivated by the ‘bans’ being put up throughout the country, that it came up with new rule of banning, of hugging and holding hands of a male and female student, in their college campus.

It said, “Such kind of public display of affection should not be done in the college premises because it’s unnatural and those who don’t follow the new rules will be dismissed from the college.

It didn’t stop there, but also banned on wearing “sleeveless, transparent, short dresses and short pants in the college campus. The notice further said, “At the first instance, a warning will be issued. Those who continue to repeat such instances will be suspended and persisting in such behaviour will result in dismissal.”

When The Indian Express, spoke to the Chairman, of the college, SC Vats, He said, “I wasn’t aware of the notice as I am not in Delhi. But such a notice has been issued. I spoke to a teacher of the mass communication department and she confirmed that a notice had been issued regarding the clothes and behaviour of students. However, I am not aware of the background which led to this decision. I will be back in Delhi on Monday and I will look into the matter.”

Meanwhile, the notice issued on Thursday has invited the ire of students, with many questioning the logic of the move.
