The account of TikTok star Faizal Siddiqui has been suspended by TikTok India. A video was posted which was promoting acid attack and it was banned as it was violating several community guidelines.
Faizal had around 13+ million followers on the video-sharing platform where he posted a video in which he was seen throwing a liquid at a girl’s face and later the girl’s face was seen disfigured which was indeed promotion of acid attack.
Rekha Sharma, chairperson of the National Commission of Women in India have called for the ban of this app and told that she will be writing to the Government of India. She said, “It not only has these objectionable videos but also pushing youngsters towards unproductive life where they are living only for few followers and even death when the numbers decline”.
On Tuesday, Laxmi Agrawal, an acid attack survivor posted the video on Instagram and slammed ok ‘influencer’ Faizal by posting the video along with a caption. The caption reads, “Thanks to National Commission for Women for taking cognizance of the viral video by TikTok ‘influencer’ Faizal Siddiqui promoting acid attack. Such videos/actions should be strictly debarred which are against society.”
Not only Laxmi slammed Faizal but also many others from Bollywood like Filmmaker and Actor Pooja Bhatt, actress Swara Bhasker and Actor Ashish Choudhary took this matter to their Twitter handle and showed their aggression to TikTok India for promoting these kinds of contents.
The rating of this app has seen a severe downfall from 4.5 to 1.3. This downfall was seen in the past 1 week after the CarryMinati roast video was del cyberbullying for cyberbullying violating several community guidelines. This deletion of a video having nearly 40 million views erupted the social war between these two platforms. Since then, YouTube fans are giving 1 s1-starting to this app for promoting rape culture, sexual content, and now acid attack.
