The Witcher is a fantasy action-adventure drama series created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich based on a novel series by Andrzej Sapkowski, a fantasy polish writer on the same name. The Witcher Season 1 launched on 20 December 2019, on Netflix with a set of 8 episodes each episode had its unique title. Season 1 is the adaption of short stories “The Last Wish” & Sword of Destiny by the Polish writer. The Witcher also had video games apart from the shows and short stories.
The Witcher Season 2 Release Date
Netflix is all set to launch The Witcher Season 2 in 2021. Well, the release date of season 2 is not yet official. We still need to wait!! Netflix officially announced that shooting of Season 1 began in February 2020 after the wra[ of season 1. However, the filming halted due to the coronavirus outbreak and got paused in March. The show’s creator also shared on set pictures on Instagram lately.

The Witcher 2 Cast
The main characters of the series will be back, and it’s obvious!!!
- Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, also known as the “witcher” is the protagonist of the series.
- Anya Chalotra well known for her role as Yennefer in the series will reprise her role.
- Freya Allan as Cirilla “Ciri,” the princess of Cintra.
- Joey Batey plays Jaskier, Gerald’s associate.
- Netflix welcomed new cast to season 2 which included Kim Bodnia, a Danish actor and director well-known for his role as a detective in “Scandinavian” crime series will play the role of Vesmir, Geralt’s adviser. Other talented actors like Kristopher Hivju as Nivellen, Yasen Atour, Agnes Bjorn, Paul Bullion, etc. will also join the cast.

The Witcher 2 Plot
The Witcher was the most-watched web series on Netflix in 2019 and had a large number of audiences. The series is all about sex, swords and fantasies. Sources state that the production has resumed lately and we can expect the season to be out soon. The creator Lauren welcomed Kim Bodnia, saying that she’s so thrilled and excited to see the star joining our show who excelled in various shows with his performance. Season 2 will focus on the storyline and adventures. 
The forthcoming season will centre on Geralt and Cirilla; the creator is going deep. Season 2 also will have eight episodes.
