The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise has always entertained audiences of every kind, with the success of the first part, the Curse of the Black Pearl, fans all over the world didn’t waste time to rush to the nearest theaters and watch the adventures of Jack Sparrow and his friends once again. It was reported that Johnny Depp was paid £15 Million for this movie.

The movie however rated slightly above average and didn’t turn out to be the success many hoped for. But the revenue received from the day of its release did more than enough to cover the expenses.

Directed by Christopher Nolan, The Dark Knight Rises is a sequel to the Dark Knight which had also crossed the $1 billion barrier. The Dark Knight Rises did not fail to impress its batman fans and received positive response from many movie critics. Rotten tomatoes had given it an 88% from 305 reviews.

The entire budget spent to make this movie amounted to $230 million. Calculate that against the revenue and you wil get your answer.

Skyfall had won the award for Outstanding British Film and Best Original Music in the BAFTAS and won the best original song and the best sound editing in the Academy Awards.

Just like the previous two movies, Iron Man 3 was also packed with more action, more suspense and more Iron Man. The trailers itself delivered the message and was enough to lure audiences all over the world to make this a must watch movie

The efforts put on by James Cameron and  his team did not go in vain as Titanic went on to bag 11 oscars in the Academies, tying for first place of the most Oscars won with Ben Hur.

Critics also claim that the year around which Titanic was released (1997), the whole world was still recovering from the 1989-1990 recession, which might have had a slight effect on the gross revenue it received, even though it collected a whopping $2,185,372,302.

Avatar till now is the highest grossing Hollywood movie ever. Surpassing Titanic with a difference of more than $500 million.

James Cameron on 2010 said that he would make two more new sequels after seeing the success Avatar received.

$230 million was the overall cost of the movie and an additional $9 million during its re-release.

With the latest technologies of motion capture stage and the use of several super computers to enable viewers to sit back and enjoy the world Pandora, Avatar completely deserves the reward for what it had sowed.
