Pacific Rim Uprising Trailer Out: Brings More Giant Robot Mayhem

2013 science fiction monster film Pacific Rim got lots of attention from geeks. The film offered the right mix of giant monsters Kaiju, huge robots and anime. Guillermo del Toro movie received mostly positive reviews and went on to become a commercial success. The makers have come up with the sequel titled Pacific Rim Uprising.


Star Wars: The Force Awakens fame John Boyega is taking the lead role this time, who will be playing the son of Stacker Pentecost (played by Idris Alba in the first film). His character is an ex-Jaeger pilot turned criminal, who ends up fighting against news wave of monsters as a part of the resistance. This time, monsters are even bigger than what you would imagine.

The events of Pacific Rim Uprising will take place ten years after the first one. the world has changed a lot in the ten years. The trailer of the film looks awesome and extravagant. We were able to see lots of giants robots chaos. There is a good chance that audience will see more of the monster world. It would be interesting to see how it performs upon its release. There is a huge expectation from the film. If the trailer has any indications, fans of Pacific Rim are in for an entertaining ride.

Steven DeKnight, who is known for creating the excellent Spartacus TV series, is going to take the director’s role for the sequel. He has some impressive projects like Spartacus, Angel and Daredevil, so we don’t have to worry about his ability to pull up a stellar. This would be his first feature film though.

Pacific Rim Uprising is one of the most anticipated films of Hollywood. The movie is directed by Steven S. Deknight. The film features John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Jing Tian, Rinko Kikuchi, Adria Arjona, Ivanna Sakhno, Zhang Jim, Mackenyu, Shyrley Rodriguez and Zhu Zhu.

Pacific Rim: Uprising is scheduled to release on 23rd March 2018.
