Lily Singh Gets Her Own Late Night Show on NBC : First Brown Woman To Host The Show!

Well-known Canadian-Indian YouTuber Lily Singh who is also known by her YouTube channel name ‘Superwoman’ is all set to host her own late-night talk show on the U.S. TV network NBC. The show is titled as A Little Late with Lilly Singh will start this year. NBC’s late-night talk shows were hosted by some of the famous personalities like Johnny Carson, David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers.

Lily’s show is taking a slot emptied by another famous host Carson Daly. It will go after Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show and Seth Meyers’ The Late-Night Show. Superwoman made this huge announcement on Fallon’s show two days ago.

Lily Singh has become the first Indian-origin woman to host a late night talk show. Also, she has become one of three women to host the show alongside Samantha Bee and Busy Philipps. Singh wrote on Twitter that “It’s official. Ya girl is getting her own @nbc late night show… A Little Late with Lilly Singh. Thank you so much for being here. I am truly so grateful.”

 

Priyanka Chopra is one of her closest friends and she congratulated on her Instagram by posting a story. She wrote, “So proud of @iisuperwomanii… First woman… of colour… to be late night show host…Break them barriers baby! So proud.”

Lily has over 14 million followers on her YouTube channel.  Singh is one of the biggest stars on YouTube at international level as far as popularity and earnings are taken into account. She started her channel in 2010. Lily graduated in Arts and Psychology from Toronto’s York University. She makes comedy videos and targets Indian as well as Universal audience. Superwoman took her twitter account to announce that she was a bisexual.

Lily Singh has become a ray hope and a role model for many young LGBTQ people. Lily is one of the strongest and independent women in the whole world. She suffered through depression and anxiety as a teenager and made a way through it. She is literally ruling digital platforms and now she will rock on the late-night show too.
