Sonchiriya Made Us Look Dusty And Mucky : Sushant Singh Rajput

Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar’s movie Sonchiriya is releasing on 1st arch 2019. This movie is shot in Chambal. The film is set in the 1970s. It is about the 1975’s Emergency, which affected Chambal to a great degree. It talks about the journey of all the insurgents and dacoits, who fought against the police force. This films also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. This is predicted to be very intriguing, raw and rustic drama.

The poster of the film Sonchiriya suggests that the actors had to undergo very much while shooting. When asked about the encounters of shooting under thrilling situations that too in far-off places Sushant told that it was very difficult. He said we were aware of the odds and challenges when they signed Sonchiriya. All the difficult situations helped them to be what they wanted to be onscreen. So, at the end that was helpful for acting and portraying what they were supposed to portray. Sushant also talked about all the technologies that are coming up but they didn’t use any because they didn’t need any.

When the same questions were asked to Bhumi she said, “I remember Chaubey sir (director) had told me categorically that ‘This, not a regular film. Yes, we will do prep but you really have to mentally and emotionally condition yourself to go through this experience.’ So he had put us through a lot of preparation but when I actually reached Chambal, everything came into perspective. The environment is harsh, but the story is so humane. And as Sushant said, Chambai is a character in the film. We look dusty and mucky and burnt (cause) we actually were.”

Sushant is very excited about this film. He said that they have done so much for the film to be good and worth to be watched in an air-conditioned theatre. They want to make every penny count for this film.

This film is directed by Abhishek Chaubey. He directed the films like Udta Punjab and Dedh Ishqiya previously. The release of the film is coinciding with Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon’s Luka Chuppi movie.
