Salman is a Godfather to many Bollywood celebrities like Arjun Kapoor, Daisy Shah, Sooraj Pancholi, Athiya Shetty, brother-in-law Aayush Sharma and many others. He has been mentoring many young talents for a few years. He has launched a few star-kids and some outsiders also. Recently he launched Mohnish Bahl’s daughter Pranutan and Zaheer Iqbal. They are making their debut via film Notebook which is produced by Salman’s own production house Salman Khan Films. This film is directed by Nitin Kakkar and it is releasing on 29th March.
Zaheer is not from a film fraternity. His father and Salman Khan are friends for a long time. It is being said that Salman spotted Zaheer at his sister’s wedding and he was performing on stage. Looking at his moves, Salman called him for an audition. Salman calls him Zahiro and hence the whole crew of the film started calling him the same. Pranutan’s father, Mohnish Bahl and Salman have done several films together like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Saath Saath Hain and Hum Aapke Hain Koun Pranutan is also the granddaughter of legendary actress Nutan.
Salman Khan introduced Pranutan on Twitter as Zahoro’s Heroine. He twitted, “We have got Zahiro’s heroine. Please welcome Ms Pranutan Bahl. Proud to introduce Nutanji’s granddaughter and Monya’s daughter to the big screen.” Pranutan got emotional when she realised that Salman Khan is launching her. Even Mohnish Bahl got emotional during the trailer launch of the movie.
Even before Notebook was in the picture, Pranutan’s photo went viral on the internet for striking resemblance with her grandma Nutan.
During trailer launch of the Notebook movie, Salman was asked about launching Star-kids. To which he replied that he launches only deserving candidates and not anybody. Salman justified why he selected Pranutan and Zaheer. He said, “Pranutan gave an audition and then we have selected her. She has done an amazing job in the film. Her performance and her line delivering skills are amazing. Zaheer was incompetent with dance steps. He practised for five hours and he got it right the very next day. He is a very hard-working boy.”
