EA announces the remastered edition of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Rolls out in November

After some recent rumours and speculations, EA has finally confirmed the newly remastered edition of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Interestingly, Criterion Games, the developer behind the original version, is not in charge of the remastered edition. Instead, Stellar Entertainment will develop the upcoming version. After having remastered the Burnout: Paradise video game, it is Stellar Entertainment’s second remaster work.

EA has revealed that fans of the series will not have to wait long, as they are going to release it on 6 November for PS4, PC, and Xbox One. However, Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait a week, until 13 November, to play the game. Depending on the system, the remastered edition offers a visual and performance upgrade as well. For example, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch will be able to run the game in 1080p at 30fps. At the same time, PS4 Pro and Xbox One X allow gamers the luxury to play the racing game in 1080p at 60fps or 4k at 30fps. PC gamers, however, can run the game in 4k at 60fps, provided that the system has the necessary hardware.

Furthermore, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remastered edition will include all the DLCs at launch. So, gamers will not have to buy them separately. According to the developer, the DLC contents will be woven throughout the primary campaign, instead of being outside it.

Stellar Entertainment has taken some creative liberties to remake the racing game. Reportedly, some of the gameplay features have been tweaked to match the current gaming scenario. Plus, the developer has added some new landmarks and destroyable environment props to make the game more exciting. The multiplayer mode, Autolog, will also undergo some change. Unlike before, the multiplayer option will now support crossplay between different platforms.
