Doordarshan reruns ‘Shrikant’ in remembrance of Irrfan Khan

In this long list of re-telecasting shows from the late 1980s, Doordarshan added another TV show titled ‘Shrikant’ in remembrance of the demised actor Irrfan Khan. When India is engraved with sorrow for his lost gem, doordarshan announces the re-telecast of the show that presents Irrfan. Originally it was telecasted from 1985 to 1986. Shrikant is based on the novel Srikanta by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyaya, it depicts the life and journey of a man named Shrikant. It will be telecasted everyday at 3:30 pm. 

 

The serial casted Irrfan Khan, Ashwini Bhave, Mrinal Kulkarni, Sujata Mehta and Farooq Shaikh. Posting on their Instagram handle they informed everyone of the re-telecast.

Moreover, they posted a video giving a tribute to the 53 years old versatile actor.

The ‘Angrezi Medium’ actor was diagnosed with a rare type of cancer which is neuroendocrine tumour back in 2018. Since then he had been fighting the disease.  On 28th April Mr Khan was admitted to ICU of Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital, Mumbai for a colon infection. The actor died fighting the battle against the deadly disease on 29th April.

 

 Back in 2018, opening up his fight against cancer he wrote-“I trust, I have surrendered”, his family informed everyone of his demise with these words. They also released a statement informing about his last riots- Irrfan was buried at the Versova Kabrastan in Mumbai at 3 pm this afternoon. His family,  friends and close relatives were present during his last riots taking care of the safety measure.

 

He took the kinds of roles that an actor would be hesitant to take, he always used to say ” I am an actor, not a hero.” His roles in movies like Piku, Pan Singh Tomar, Blackmail and many more will also be remembered and appreciated. He was not just an Hindi film actor but also a Hollywood actor. Leaving behind the legacy of his own, a wonderful person left for the heavenly abode.
