Pati Patni aur Woh Box Office Collection : Day 2

Recently released romcom “ Pati Patni Aur Woh” is doing pretty well at the box office. The movie hit the screens on Dec 6, 2019. It has collected Rs 21.43 crore after two days. The film is directed by Mudassar Aziz and stars Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Pandey in lead roles.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted about the collection of this movie on twitter.

Another film trade analyst Girish Johar talked about this film. As per him, Kartik Aaryan is doing great at the box office. Ananya and Bhumi are favourite actresses of this generation. So, their coming together is amazing and that’s what fans are loving.  He also said that the film is light-hearted and targeted for particularly youth audience. The promotion of this film is done well, and songs were loved by the audience when released.

Pati, Patni Aur Woh Storyline 

This film revolves around a married couple, Chintu Tyagi (Kartik Aaryan) and Vedika Tripathi (Bhumi Pednekar). They live in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. Chintoo is an IIT Kanpur graduate working in the Public Works Department. His life seems pretty boring and he started feeling disinterested in his life. He frequently misses his college crush and wants more romance from his wife Vedika.

This tale takes a twist when a Delhi girl Tapasya Singh (Ananya Panday) enters the story who wants Tyagi’s help in opening a garment store in Kanpur. In the beginning, it feels like a fun and later turns into harm for Chintoo and vedika’s marriage.

Along with these lead roles, Aparshakti Khurrana can be seen in the movie who plays Tyagi’s best friend Fahim Rizvi.  All the actors performed really well in the film.

Controversy

When the trailer of this film released, It became a talk of the town for reason. It was criticized for joking about marital rape in a dialogue by Kartik Aryaan. The dialogue was then removed.

The dialogue was, “Biwi se sex maang lein, toh hum bhikaari. Biwi ko sex mana kar dein, toh hum atyachaari aur kisi tarah jugaad Laga ke uss se sex haasil kar lein na, toh balaatkaari bhi hum hain.” This translates to “If we ask our wife for sex, we are termed, beggars. If we deny her sex, we are tyrants. And if we somehow manage to get sex from our wives, then we become rapists.”

Twitter users slammed filmmakers and actors for the controversial dialogue. Right after this, filmmakers promised to not put this dialogue into the final film.
