After his debut movie, he just didn’t stop and acted in movies like Parwana, Anand, and Bombay to Goa. He gained popularity after Zanjeer, Deewar, and Sholay. And now, he has acted in many movies and made so many roles memorable.

Amitabh Bachchan has seen many ups and down his career. He also faced some fatal accidents while shooting and working but he did not give up and rest is the history. He is now known as the Shehenshah (King) of the Bollywood. Some call him Sadi ka Mahanayak (The greatest actor of the century)

In his whole career till now, he acted, sang, produced, anchored and done every possible thing his career demanded.  He has done 190 films in his 50 cinematic years. After 1980s French Director Francois Truffaut called him a “One Man Industry.” This is obvious because Amitabh Bachchan has fan all over the world.

Big B was awarded by Padma Shri in 1984, Padma Bhushan in 2001, and Padma Vibhushan in 2015. Also, he bagged 15 Filmfare awards along with many awards at International Film Festivals. The government of France awarded with him their highest civilian award, Knight of the Legion of honor in 2007 for his extraordinary contribution to the world of cinema. He was the host for quite a lot of seasons of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

He was born on 11th October 1942 as Inquilaab Srivastava, but his father called him Amitabh. Also, his last name Bachchan was taken from his father’s pen name. Amitabh debuted with this last name and now everyone from their family puts this surname. He married Jaya Bhaduri in 1973 and they have happily married ever after. They have two children namely Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan.

After 1973, Mr. Bachchan gained superstardom because of Sholay and Deewar. Sholay was the highest grossing Indian film at that time. Then the series of his films went on with Amar Akbar Anthony, Adalat, Zanzeer etc. In 1978 his movie Don was released and Bachchan won his second Filmfare award for his acting. In 1980 his movie Dostana was a super hit. Big B suffered a fatal injury in 1982 while shooting for Coolie. He stayed in hospitals for months until his recovery.  It was closer to death. Because of Mr. Bachchan’s injury, the film was already publicized and hence it was a box office success.

Lately, he was seen in Piku, Pink and some other movies. His movie Badla is releasing on 8th March 2019. Also, he is busy with his upcoming movie Brahmastra. Amitabh Bachchan never stopped, and he accepted every challenge in his career. That is what made him survive this industry so long.

Mr. Bachchan is passionate about his work but there are many things that he loves other than acting. He loves to write, and an interesting fact is he can write with his both the hands. He loves to collect pens and watches. He is one of the best actors that India has witnessed but along with that, he is a good human too.

We salute this megastar for his valuable contribution to Indian Cinema.
