Due to the surge in the Corona cases, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued a holiday calendar for all the private and public schools. All the other institutions will be closed till March 31, 2021, except Medical and Nursing colleges. Colleges or schools that are holding exams are remained closed till March 31.
As per the statement released by the UP Chief Minister, “with a fresh surge in the number of COVID-19 cases, UP has declared “Holi Holidays” for private and public schools with classes 1 to 8 from March 24 to 31. Remaining schools and colleges where no exams are being held, will also be shut from March 25 to 31”.
The only exception will be Medical and Nursing colleges which will remain open during this period said the order from the UP Chief Secretary.
“Government also added that schools and colleges where exam are conducted for those days, they will be held as per the original exam schedule and in “full compliance with COVID-19 protocols”.
In the wake of increasing cases of COVID-19, institutions of higher education in the state have also decided to shut the campuses and been compelled to take respective steps as well. The centrally run university in the state – Banaras Hindu University (BHU) announced on Monday it was cancelling offline classes and declaring holidays.
After the 10 months of lockdown, education institutional had started reopening gradually across the country from the month of October but the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases compel them to re-closed schools and college for the safety of students and staffs.
The second wave of CORONA VIRUS would not become the severe obstacle it is necessary to these steps soon. Several states have already closed academic institution and decided to postpone the new academic session to July.
