State Health Minister Anil Vij Instructed; Schools Will Remain Closed For Next More 10 Days In Haryana

Due to the rising case of COVID-19, the Haryana government has extended the date for reopening school till 10 days. The announcement is made public on November 28, 2020.

Haryana schools to remain close for the next ten days at the request of State Health Minister Anil Vij. It was earlier decided by the Haryana Government that school will be closed till November 30, 2020, in the view of the pandemic situation.

However, with the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Delhi and NCR, state government including Delhi and Haryana has issued a statement to remain close the schools. With the recent announcement by the minister on November 28, 2020, it can be expected that the school will now be reopening on December 10, 2020.

The decision of extending the date has been taken after many school students and teachers in different districts were found positive in coronavirus test.

In the official statement, the Health Minister of State Anil Vij said, “The Health Department teams will conduct checkup of students and staff members of all schools in order to maintain the secure environment after the reopening of schools. Officials have confirmed that over 150 school students have been tested positive for COVID-19 from the three districts of Haryana.”

The students who were found asymptomatic too had tested positive in process of a random sampling drive carried out by the health department for the schools.

The schools had been reopened in Haryana in the first week of November but only for the student of class 9 to 12 with the consent of the parents.

Haryana Government too had taken the decision to reopen the school after November 2 as the cases of COVID-19 were registered less in the month of September and early October as compared to the previous month.

Other states were planning to reopen the school in the month of November but the second wave of the pandemic has become a matter of concern.
