Securities and Exchange Board of India has again extended the application deadline for the Grade A exam. The exam which was supposed to be held for various posts of SEBI Grade A officers has already been postponed, in the light of Covid-19 pandemic. This is the 4th time in a row that SEBI has extended the dates after releasing the notification.
SEBI has extended the dates for the application and fee payment for the 4th time this year. SEBI has released the notification for the SEBI Grade A in March 2020 inviting applications under various posts. The announcement was made on the official website on 26th May 2020.

Timeline of SEBI Grade A 2020
The Grade A exams have already been deferred due to the ongoing corona pandemic. Earlier SEBI has also announced that it has revised the dates of the Pre and Mains exam date. With this announcement SEBI has given additional time to all the students who wish to fill the form of SEBI Grade A. Also, this clearly summarises that the pre-exam has been postponed indefinitely. SEBI has released a notification for total 147 vacancies under various disciplines, following is the list of vacancies under SEBI Grade A:

How to apply?
The application process for the vacancies notified under the SEBI Grade A recruitment will be done online. The candidates have to follow all the basic steps released by the exam authorities:
- Visit the official website of the Securities and Exchange Board of India.
- Register yourself on the website and then proceed further.
- Fill all of your personal details that are asked in the form. After filling all your personal details, name, date of birth, gender. Note down the login credentials.
- Enter all the details correctly regarding the marks, date of birth etc.
- After this enter your academic qualifications, grades, total marks.
- Lastly, take a printout of the application form and keep it for future use.
- The department will not charge any fee from any applicant.
- If a candidate is already working anywhere, then he must have to show his NOC during Document Verification.
Grade A Exam Pattern
The exam of SEBI Grade A will be conducted in two phases viz Preliminary and Mains. The questions asked will be objective in nature in both the phases, and there will be negative marking for wrong answers. Let’s have a quick look at the exam pattern of both the phases.
Preliminary Exam
The question asked in phase 1 will be objective in nature. There will be a negative marking of ¼ on each wrong answer by the candidate.

Paper 1 is compulsory for all the students irrespective of their disciplines, while Paper 2 will be according to their respective streams. Also, there is a pre-decided cut-off for each paper and candidates will have to qualify that cut-off.
Mains Exam
Phase 2 will be mixed in nature viz it has 1 test that is fully descriptive to check the drafting skills of the student. While the 2nd paper is objective in nature with the same subjects as in Phase 1.
