Postpone NEET PG 2021: NEET exam postponed due to Covid, new date will be announced later

In view  of the increasing new cases of Covid, the Central Government has postponed the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET). The examination was to be held on 18 April, now its next date will be decided later. This information has been given by Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, “Keeping in mind the health and safety of young medical students, it has been decided to postpone the NEET-PG examination.”

Students and parents demanded that the exam be canceled

After the cancellation of the 10th examinations and postponing the 12th examinations of CBSE, there was an increasing demand for postponement of other examinations continuously. Under this, there was a demand for postponing the proposed NEET PG 2021 on 18 April. Medical students appearing in the examination said that in view of the situation arising due to the Covid epidemic in the country, the NEET examination should be postponed in such circumstances. At the same time, considering the problems of the students and parents, the government has decided to postpone the examination of NEET 2021.

1,74,886 candidates registered

Significantly, a total of 1,74,886 candidates have registered for the NEET PG 2021 exam. At the same time, 24,360 of these have been registered for Doctor of Medicine and 12,690 for Master of Surgery. Its 922 PGs are registered for diploma seats.

Stalin had raised the question on conducting Neet PG exam 

DMK President MK Stalin had questioned whether this is the right time for the Neet PG exam. Leader of Opposition in Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Stalin said, “The second wave of Covid-19 has now canceled the CBSE examinations. With the increase in new cases and death toll, our doctors are facing this challenge, is it the right time for the post-graduation course for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Examination? ”
