Lenovo launches free online education platform SmarterEd for students

Lenovo has launched the ‘SmarterEd’ free online education platform for students in India from classes V to XII. This Lenovo one-on-one education is launched in collaboration with eVidyaloka, a non-profit organisation (NGO) and has a registration of volunteers who are interested in spreading education. The educational platform allows students to select the subject they would like to learn, choose their teachers, and take out time to learn as per their convenience.

Several educational institutions have already started with free online classes for their students. Online educations platforms have made their classes free and are also providing free online courses for college students and teachers with certificates.

Lenovo India CEO and Managing Director Rahul Agarwal said that What the company are doing has no commercial angle to it. Through SmarterEd, the company want to show the way technology can be leveraged to address issues that the country is facing. Education is one thing which company can directly address through technology.

What SmarterEd offers to you?

  • Subjects are linked to NCERT and State syllabus in the form of ebooks for the learners
  • Offers a chat engine for seamless student-teacher communication (one-on-one online education)
  • Supports multiple languages: English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu.

The company said that with the use of smarter technology, students and teachers are matched using an algorithm that takes into account their respective learning and teaching styles.
