Every year SBI releases notification for filling in various posts under the Scale 1 officers alias SBI PO. This year SBI PO is expected in June/July citing the coronavirus pandemic. SBI PO 2020 Eligibility

The eligibility of SBI PO is decided on 3 factors viz Age, Citizenship and Educational Qualification. SBI gives age relaxation to students of various reserved categories. The total fee of SBI PO for General/OBC students is Rs 750 while for the SC/ST is Rs 125.

Age Criteria

  • The candidate should fall between the age group of 21-30 years.
  • The candidates who come in the creamy layer are given age relaxations viz 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates.

Nationality

The candidate should be a citizen of India.

Educational Qualification

  • The candidate should have completed his graduation from a recognised university.
  • There is no minimum percentage required for appearing in the exam.

SBI PO 2020 Selection Process

The selection process of SBI PO is divided into 3 levels. The 3 levels are Preliminary exam, Mains exam and GD/PI. Let’s now have an in-depth analysis of the 3 levels:

Level 1- Preliminary Exam

This is the first stage of the recruitment process it is a 1-hour exam comprising of 3 subjects. There are prescribed sectional timing for each subject and a total of 100 questions are asked at this level.

Level 2- Mains Exam

The candidates who will be successful in clearing the cut-off of pre-exam will be called for the mains exam. The mains exam is slightly difficult in terms of level as compared to the preliminary exam.

Level 3- GD/PI

The 3rd level of the selection process is the GD/PI in which only those candidates appear who have successfully cleared the level 2. The GD/PI is also allotted marks and candidates have to acquire the minimum cut-off as well to get finally placed in the merit list. The total marks allotted to the GD/PI round is 50 marks.

SBI PO Tentative Vacancies

Going by the past trend the tentative vacancies for the SBI PO has been total 2000 which is spread into various categories according to the prescribed limits.

Salary Breakup

The salary of a candidate selected as an SBI PO is approximately 8 lc-13 lc depending in the city of posting. The grade pay of a Scale 1 officer is 27,620 apart from this an employee is entitled to receive other allowances and perks.

Previous year cut-offs

There is no provision of sectional cut-off in the SBI PO exam. The candidates have to only secure the minimum qualifying cut-off to pass the level. Let’s have a quick look at the previous year cut-off for all the phases viz Pre, Mains and the final cut-off.
