RBI Recruitment 2018 – 27 Assistant Officer Positions

The application process has already started from January 26, 2018 and will be available till February 15, 2018. To be eligible, you will have to own a graduation degree from any recognized university or equivalent.

RBI will declare the changes in exam dates (if any), admit card, answer keys, results and more information at its official website only. So you are suggested to keep checking the official website for any notification.

Breakup of Vacancies

Out of the 27 positions, 3 are for Manager (Technical – Civil) Gr-B, 2 for Manager (Technical – Electrical) Gr-B, 7 for Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha) Gr-A, 9 for Assistant Manager (Security) Gr-A and the remaining 6 for Assistant Librarian.

Age Limit Criteria

Your age must be between 20 to 28 years at the time of application. However, the upper age of the SC, ST, OBC, PWD and PH category candidates will be relaxed as per the government rules and regulations.

Registration Fee

The registration fee for the general and OBC category candidates is INR 450. However, the SC and ST category candidates need to pay only INR 50 as the registration fee.

Selection Process

RBI generally follows a three-stage procedure for evaluating the eligible candidates for the Assistant Officer post. These include Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview.

The Preliminary Exam will be held on April 06, 2018 and the Mains Exam on May 07, 2018. The date of interview will be declared by RBI on its official website post declaration of the result of the Mains Exam.

The Preliminary Exam is a written exam containing questions based on the English, Numeric Ability and Reasoning topics. This section contains 100 marks to be scored by the appearing candidates.

The Mains Exam is also a written exam that contains 200 marks. Candidates are given 135 minutes to complete this test. It contains questions based on the English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, Computer Knowledge and General Awareness topics. Each of these topics contain questions with 40 marks.

Once you would clear both the Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam in a sequence, you will need to appear in the interview round. In this round, your professional skills and overall knowledge will be assessed by the experts.

Pay Scale

RBI will pay salary to the Assistant Officers based on the pay scale of the official Recruitment Notification 2018. If hired, you will be eligible for the pay scale of INR 14,650 (INR 13,150 plus two advance increments) following the scale of INR 13150-750 (3) – 15400 – 900 (4) – 19000 – 1200 (6) – 26200 – 1300 (2) – 28800 – 1480 (3) – 33240 – 1750 (1) – 34990.
