JNUEE 2020: JNUSU Demands Registration Extension Deadline

JNUEE 2020: JNUSU, The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union has requested the authorities to extend the JNUEE 2020 registration deadline viewing the current restrictions due to the coronavirus lockdown. The lockdown has affected the public movement and the candidates who do not have internet connection could not apply for the JNUEE 2020 or Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination.

The JNUSU letter addressing the Vice-Chancellor said that there has been a complete shutdown of the movement of public life on the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and a looming public health crisis not only in our country but across the globe. There has been a lockdown announced for the next 21 days according to the Government of India directives. The restrictions on movement have affected the aspirants applying for JNUEE 2020 and to fill up the application form.”

The letter also states that a lot of the aspirants use external help or cyber cafes who does not have access to personal internet to access the portal for applying JNUEE 2020. This creates additional difficulties for the states like J&K having extremely limited internet access and the offline mode is no longer in prevalence.

The letter further stated requesting that the date for application and registration which ends on 31st March 2020, be extended to allow students to have sufficient time to apply.

 

National Testing Agency or NTA conducts the JNUEE on behalf of the Delhi-based central university. Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination or JNUEE is conducted to offer admission to aspirants in postgraduate and undergraduate programmes offered by the university. The application forms for JNUEE 2020 was released on March 2, 2020.

The last date of JNUEE application form is till March 31, 2020, and the admit cards is about to release on April 21, 2020. No new dates have been notified for now. The entrance exam will be held on May 11, 2020, to May 14, 2020, for 3 hours.

The JNU admissions aspirants, while filling the application form can opt to appear in the JNU entrance examination for a maximum of three courses.

JNUEE offers courses like MA, BA (Hons), MCA, MSc, Mass Media, MTech, MPhil, and International Studies. JNU CEEB is conducted for admission into Biotechnology. The candidates who want to appear for the JNUEE entrance exam can apply on the portal https://www.jnu.ac.in/node.
