JEE Advanced 2021 Dates, Eligibility Criteria To Be Announced On January 7, 2021

Union Minister of Education, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will announce the dates for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2021 in live discussion via social media platform ‘Twitter’ on January 7. He will also clarify the eligibility criteria and admission process in various Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) during the same online interaction session.

He will come live on January 7, 2021, at 6 pm to announce the information regarding JEE Advanced 2021 examination. Earlier, he announced the dates for JEE Main examination. Mr. Pokhriyal informed the details about the live webinar on JEE Advanced by tweeting on his official Twitter account and information has been also confirmed by the Ministry of Education (HRD).

As per the JEE Main 2021 official brochure, along with the qualifying JEE Advanced exam, candidates are also required to secure either a minimum score of 75 percent marks in the class 12 board exam or rank among the top 20 percentile in their qualifying examinations to be eligible for IIT admission. There is relaxation in scoring minimum marks for SC/ST candidates – they must score 65 percent in the board examination.

Due to the global pandemic crisis COVID-19, administrative authority has decided to make the eligibility criteria for admission into IITs relaxing as compared the previous year. As per the revised eligibility criteria – candidates who qualified the entrance exam and passed the board examination were eligible for admission irrespective of marks obtained.

Due to the pandemic, the JEE Main 2020 qualifying candidates who were not able to write JEE Advanced 2020 will get another door directly to appear for the same without reappearing for JEE main 2021. The first phase will start from February 23 to 26 while January 16, 2021, is the last to apply for JEE Advanced 2021.
